About Me

I was born and raised in Burlington, Vermont.

Growing up, I always felt a desire to understand how things worked. I loved to spend time in my basement workshop tinkering. So, after high school, instead of going to college, I decided to explore my mechanical curiosity through aircraft maintenance, living only one mile from the local airport. I loved it and strived to be the absolute best aircraft mechanic, even winning a national competition near the end of my program.

After earning my aircraft maintenance certification, I had the opportunity to join a fledgling flight school as the first full-time employee, working as the sole mechanic and Director of Operations. I embarked on a new challenge of learning business through trial by fire. It was my opportunity to follow in my parents’ entrepreneurial footsteps: my father started an electrical contracting business and my mother ended up working with him.

After achieving early success and rapid growth during my first three years, I decided to go to college to fill the gaps in my skillset. I worked part-time at the flight school while going to school full-time. After graduating, I returned as the Executive Director, implementing a new 5-year strategic plan to prepare the flight school for a new period of growth.

I had almost completed all my objectives when COVID-19 hit. In the uncertain environment that followed, I dealt with numerous operational, personnel, and financial challenges. The choices I made were difficult and full of compromises, but it was better to act quickly than seek a perfect solution that was implemented too late. In the end, we not only survived that period, but the school was set up for success.

Now, I am looking for the opportunity to leverage my experiences by buying and running a company in a great community to become the hallmark of my career.
